The Haunted Alleyway – 1:24 Printable Book Nook Kit. No wooden shell needed: Sheet 7 is a box template so you can build the 136 × 190 × 92 mm nook from card or foamboard, or fit everything into a ready-made 1:24 shell if you already have one. No soldering, no 3D printing, no woodwork.

Easy beginner build

Print at 100% on A4, cut, score the dashed fold lines, fold and glue the grey tabs. Every part is numbered and matches the 12-step build order on page 7 of the 7-page manual. You only need scissors or a craft knife, a metal ruler, PVA glue and a home printer. Ideal for first-time crafters, older children with an adult helping, and cosy evenings at the kitchen table.

• Sheet 1: 1A/1B corner conduits, 1C Lamplighter's Box (hides the battery holder and lever connectors) and 1D Apothecary Crate (hides the speaker)
• Sheet 2: 2A–2D gothic windows, 2E–2K shop and tavern signs in graduated sizes for a forced-perspective row down the alley (The Crooked Raven 36 × 22 mm, Ghost & Grail 30 × 18 mm, Lantern & Quill 24 × 15 mm, Candlewick Tavern 18 × 11 mm, plus 2 spares: Old Moor Inn and Apothecary), 2L iron hanging brackets

Backing and card advice

• Print wall wraps and window panes on 80–100 gsm paper and 3D parts on 200–250 gsm matt card
• Glue wall wraps onto 1–2 mm greyboard, mount board or 3 mm foamboard so they stay flat and block light
• Our black foamboard already stops light bleed; if you use white board, paint or line the back of the walls black; a drop of baby oil on plain paper makes a frosted window pane
• Let glued tabs dry under a book for 10 minutes before standing parts up
